DRA. FABIOLA MONROY GUZMÁN

Fabiola Monroy Guzmán, Chemical Engineer and Master in Nuclear Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and PhD in Sciences from the University of Paris XI, France, thanks to a scholarship granted by the CONACYT-France program. Repatriated by the National Institute for Nuclear Research (ININ) in 1998; leader and technical manager of 12 research projects funded by CONACYT, IAEA, LOREAL and COMECYT, she has trained 28 undergraduate thesis students, 2 master's students and 2 doctoral students from various higher education institutions, and has published 46 indexed articles as lead author, 8 book chapters, 12 popular articles and a patent in conjunction with CIDETEQ. 

Founder of the first “Radioactive Waste Laboratory” in Mexico, responsible for developing, studying and researching all the stages involved in the management of radioactive waste. She has 25 years of experience in radiochemical separation processes applied mainly to the production of radionuclides with medical applications, and to the characterization of radionuclides present in radioactive waste, which are of interest to nuclear power plants.

He has completed research stays at internationally renowned institutions such as: Oak Ridge National Laboratory in the US, CIEMAT in Spain and the Institut de Physique Nucléair in France.

She has participated in the organization of 3 ININ congresses and 8 symposia within the framework of the SQM congresses, and has been a reviewer of several CONACyT, COMECyT and DOE (Department of Energy, USA) projects and of numerous articles in international journals.

Member of the National System of Researchers Level 2.
